LESSONS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE FROM PATANJALI AYURVEDA

Author: Ms. Mukta Srivastava

Category: General Management

Abstract:

The article presents important lessons for Good Governance which can be learnt from Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda, which has proved it to be the latest disruption for branded consumer goods market. Established on 27 September 2007, Patanjali Ayurveda has achieved a turnover of more than 5000 crore (US$740 million) in a span of less than 10 years (Datta, 2016) and is considered today as country's one of the most prestigious brand. Today with PM Modi's Make in India vision, Patanjali Ayurveda has definitely created a milestone and hence can be considered as a benchmark for today's entrepreneurs and corporates. The present article, therefore, highlights not only the important management lessons that today's corporates and enterprises can learn but also critically examines the imperative implications for Good Governance through carefully scrutinizing the brand.
