EVALUATION OF MANAGEMENT PRACTICES OF MICRO-FINANCE INDUSTRIES - A STUDY OF LENDING MODELS FOR MICROFINANCE INSTITUTION

Abstract:

The Paper examines the reasons of success and failure of various Lending Models for Micro Finance Institutions in the global arena with special reference to Micro credit for Entrepreneurs. It shalt critically examine and compare the Grameen Bank Model (Bangladesh), Comilla Model (Pakistan), Agent Banking (Brazil) and Mobile Banking (Kenya). The objective of this paper is to identify the reasons for degenerative growth, following the Andhra Act 2010, in various parts of India with a specia( reference to success story in Mann Deshi Co-operative Bank, Satara, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamjl Nadu. The outcome of this comparison is a blueprint of a new model for India. The data collected for this analysis is based on secondary resources like Census India 2011, Asia Research Centre and Women’s World Banking Organization.
